Will music worlds finally collide this September?

One thing we know for sure this fall. September 9th is the official release date for The Beatles Rock Band Edition. And that coinciding with that release date is a new box set, featuring a completely remastered Beatles catalog and all the fixins.'

We also know (maybe) that Apple usually has a big music event at this time to show off new iPods, versions of iTunes, ect.

But some are wondering if that Wednesday in September will see a release of the Beatles music on the iTunes Store, the top music retailer.

Katie Marsal of AppleInsider:

"Rumors of The Beatles' songs coming to iTunes are nothing new, but it was far less likely to happen years ago, when Apple and the parent company of The Beatles, Apple Corps, were engaged in a trademark dispute. In 2007, those issues were resolved, leaving many to believe an appearance for digital downloads would soon follow, though it never did.

Whether the Sept. 9 date has to do with planning or mere coincidence remains to be seen"

I can imagine it may not come then, but while the two sides have been haggling it out since the time Apple was a minor music player, they are a dominant force in music distribution now. If the remaining Fab Four and their entities want the biggest bang for the buck, they can only dance around Cupertino for so long.
